Town centre security cameras and surveliance systems have mushroomed in recent
years. The additional security provided to patrons, the decrease in crime targetted
towards the high street businesses and the ability for police to work more effectively
has meant that town centre security systems have contributed toward the renaissance
experienced in some town and city centres.
G4S Security Systems is heavily involved in the update of an existing London borough town
centre system – based on 134 analogue cameras and 134 VCR’s- and replacing it
with Digital systems, an IP camera network, mobile cameras using RF technology
and state of the art data transfer.
Eventually the system will handle all two thousand cameras operating in the Borough
at the present time, but which operate independently through various departments.
G4S Security Systems is using one of the most advanced network systems operating in Europe
in this development.
G4S Security Systems has also been involved in the redevelopment of the security system
for Derby town centre. See the press
release.
