G4S Security Systems sucessfully completes hi-tech installation
at the BBC's Caversham Park

For the past 12 months G4S Security Systems has been involved in one of the most complex
and technically challenging installations at one of the most prestigious BBC sites
in the UK, Caversham Park.
The site is the home of BBC Monitoring where news from over 140 countries is collected
from various television, radio and news agencies, and then distributed to the
public across the globe through the BBC World Service.
The contract, run by the Project team of John Nivelles-Posschier and Tony Jones,
involved the installation of the G4S Security Systems access control system and Alarm Monitoring
package, and the interfacing of these systems with the existing security measures
already in place.
The system is currently controlling 91 smart card readers at Caversham Park (as
installed by G4S Security Systems ) and a further 4 at Crowsley Park. The new system installed
also monitors the existing fire doors on-site, as well as the internal detectors,
perimeter door contacts, guardwire, card access information, and remote alarm
panels from the satellite dish at Crowsley Park.
G4S Security Systems has received very positive feedback from the BBC facilities staff
(located at Caversham Park) in regards to the standard of the installation and
the total contract value for the BBC Caversham contract was substantially in excess
of £100,000.
