G4S Security Systems announced today the completion of an access control and contractor
management system for the Westfield Group who are undertaking a major redevelopment
of Derby town centre.
The security system incorporates a contractor management system that requires
each contractor on site to be issued with an ID card that allows him access to
site, and records his time at work. It ensures that only
bonafide contractors and sub contractors are allowed on site, which aside from
the security benefits also helps greatly with complying with health and safety
requirements.
It also allows a full record of site attendance for use in calculating sub contractor
payments. As part of the contract, G4S Security Systems has installed a number of full
height external turnstiles and cameras at each entrance to the site.
