G4S Security Systems has been tasked with upgrading electronic security
within Adidas retail outlets across the UK.
This contract is in addition to the existing contract held by G4S Cash Services
to provide Adidas with its UK cash collection. Monty Byers, National Business
Development Manager, said: “Adidas wanted to place all of its security needs with
one supplier and after being given an opportunity to carry out a trial, G4S was
chosen to roll-out electronic security across its UK stores.”
G4S will be upgrading electronic security across 25 Adidas stores nationwide,
having already installed new systems in a new outlet in Liverpool and the company’s
flagship store on London’s Oxford Street. The systems include a new CCTV system
with digital recording capability, a new intruder alarm system and remote monitoring
services.
“Installation of new electronic monitoring systems takes about a month per
store, including the training of security staff onsite,” Monty explained. “As
well as installing new systems, we also ensure each store is upgraded to the minimum
UK security standards.” Following this, Adidas is now keen to adopt the G4S electronic
security system further afield in some European outlets.
