intruders if an effective visitor management strategy is not implemented.

with our ‘front of house’ systems and services. These include our visitor management
system which captures the face and details of every visitor or contractor on your
site.
Using systems designs and implemented by G4S Security Systems a facilities manager can
create an access card in under a minute. This can be combined with digital CCTV
Recording, working with your existing CCTV system to capture images of every member
of staff, visitor or contractor entering your site.
High
Security Visitor control
G4S Security Systems has designed a series of Visitor Control systems for the Prisons,
Financial and High Security markets. These systems incorporate biometrics as the
primary technology and offer a very high degree of security.
Within the Prison Sector, we offer 3 versions of the system: Enrolment Station,
Inmate Control and Visitor Control.
The Enrolment station allows the prison to ensure that a prisoner being moved
or released is the same person who was enrolled onto the system when they first
started their sentence. This stops prisoners attempting to swap identities with
another inmate.
The Inmate Control system is used to track an inmate as they move through
the prison. When they attend the visits hall they are asked to identify themselves
(via a finger reader) and when they leave they are then asked to repeat this process.
This ensures that friends or family members do not attempt to switch places with
the inmate.
The Visitor Control system keeps a record of all visitors' details (fingerprint,
photo etc) on a database. Each time they attend the prison the visitor places
their finger on the reader and the system checks that they are the same person
who is held on the database. By having an automatic system, you are reducing the
manpower required to run the visits hall and offering a greater degree of security
to the Prison.
The systems have been a major success in the Prison sector with packages currently
in use at HMP Highdown, HMP Belmarsh, HMP Long Lartin, HMP Woodhill and HMP Barlinnie.
Each of the above systems can be applied to other high security environments
such as the financial marketplace and other susceptible industries.
